SPG601 (VSN16R) is a novel cannabinoid-like compound that acts as a positive allosteric modulator of large-conductance calcium-activated potassium (BK) channels, particularly targeting subunits like beta-4 for neuroprotective effects. Recent clinical studies show that it effectively modulates resting-state EEG by reducing abnormal gamma-band oscillations and improves executive function in Fragile X Syndrome patients, maintaining a favorable safety profile. It can be used for Fragile X syndrome and BK channel research.
